About Rebecca Giger Studio, empowering makers online

Welcome! I’m Rebecca Giger, a garment maker turned website designer who truly knows the joys and challenges of running a small creative business. My studio exists to support fellow makers with ecommerce websites that feel calm and authentic to your craft, while also helping your products get easily found and purchased online.

Helping makers bring their craft online

That juggle between the joy of creating versus the practicalities of selling your work? I know it well. Photographing products, writing product descriptions, managing stock, shipping, marketing, customer service… and then also trying to navigate the tech side of an online store. It’s a lot.

My goal is to make selling online simpler and easier for you, while also ensuring your ecommerce site feels as thoughtful, intentional and functional as the work you pour your heart into.

My previous experience as a maker and product-based small business owner shapes everything I do as a web designer: from creating spaces that allow your products to shine online to my clear and kind processes that break our collaboration down into manageable steps, helping reduce overwhelm.

About the founder: Rebecca Giger, creative studio owner and female web designer

Before founding my Studio in 2021, I explored many paths — working as an IP legal assistant, interning at fashion brands, studying drama and fashion in England and Switzerland, and then co-founding a slow fashion label for petite women.

My journey into web design began while creating an online shop for that label. I quickly discovered a new passion, honing my coding skills (CSS, HTML, basic JavaScript, and Liquid) through industry-leading courses and hands-on practice, and learning from masters of my trade (particularly Squarestylist and the Standout Squarespace community).

These days, I spend my time between Switzerland and Indonesia, helping artisans and makers worldwide create online spaces that reflect the heart of their craft.

My design philosophy

I believe we need to truly engage with where things are made, how they are made and by whom. This helps us make more sustainable choices, while preserving traditional skills and crafts that might otherwise be lost.

A well-made online shop, designed with calm beauty and attention to detail, can help tell these stories, bringing the transformative power of craft to more people while helping your small business flourish.

Having previously sold my own products online, I also understand what helps customers feel confident to buy — from clear navigation and strong product pages to smooth checkout, great imagery and connective storytelling. My signature website designs blend elegance with strategy, helping your shop grow with integrity.

My guiding principles

  • A white flower with a long stem and slightly blurred petals against a beige background.

    Kindness & integrity

I strive to meet others with empathy, patience and respect for our shared humanity. I envision a world where every individual is treated with equal dignity and opportunity.

  • A wooden chair with a bunch of grapes on it, placed on a wooden floor, with a small wall opening in the background containing a wine glass filled with red wine.

    Intentionality & slow living

I believe that businesses can move slowly and still thrive. By gently guiding my clients through calm, digestible steps, I help reduce overwhelm and create space for clarity, confidence and lasting impact.

  • Sepia-toned photograph of four traditional woven baskets with geometric patterns, arranged on a wooden surface.

    Everyday beauty & curiosity

I hold a deep reverence for beauty in all its forms and want to celebrate and elevate handmade work. Staying open-hearted and curious is central to both my business and personal life.

Behind the scenes with Rebecca Giger

The desire to build an unconventional, creativity-filled life has always been my guiding light.

I speak four languages

I’m fluent in English and German, a little rusty in French and know just a touch of Indonesian. My Swiss-Indonesian heritage and my mother’s roots in Jakarta have shaped a beautifully multicultural life.

I studied drama at a top school in England

I went to drama school because I originally wanted to be a stage actress. In hindsight though, I should have gone to the costume department…

My first career was in slow fashion

I’ve always loved sewing, and went on to study at the London College of Fashion and the Swiss Textile School. I then interned at two major fashion brands before co-founding a slow fashion label for petite women.

I collect vintage and antique clothinG

My grandfather’s family were lace makers and cotton embroiderers in Eastern Switzerland, and I treasure the lace remnants I inherited. That’s probably what sparked my love for vintage fashion — I even had an Elizabeth I coronation dress replica made when I was 17.

I’m inspired by small, compassionate businesses

I’m endlessly inspired by people who deliberately want to stay small and have found a model that works for their life (even if it’s not industry-standard) that is grounded in kindness and a humane-centred approach.

I’m an introvert with a curious spirit

When I am not wrangling websites and code, you will likely find me reading, roaming through a forest, admiring Old Master paintings or dreaming about renovating an old house.
